We are an online community committed to helping student designers worldwide connect, learn design skills and showcase their work.
The Student Design Showcase Ltd is a business founded by 2 Northumbria University postgraduates studying design-related degrees. After the coronavirus made it impossible for us to have our 3rd-year degree show, we wanted to create a way which allowed fellow students in the same position as us to showcase their work safely. It was from this simple idea that we made our Instagram page!

Our Story
At the beginning of the Lockdown in the UK, everything began to close down, including crucial design showcase events for students. These events were imperative to students in helping them demonstrate their final projects and gain interest in the industry. Ciaran and I saw this as an opportunity to do our part and help out our fellow design students with a simple Instagram page, pulling in attention from the industry and showcasing the fantastic work they all achieved.
This simple page blossomed into a thriving design community with hundreds of projects being developed into fully functioning products. Our design podcast offered people a fresh way to learn about the experiences of design professionals and their crucial seeds of advice; each talk across the UK and US helped us better understand the audience's needs and how we could tailor our services; it has been an incredible journey, we hope you follow to see what happens next.
